Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Mindful Changes offers MBSR training in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland of BC.

MBSR is an 8-week intensive, group program which was developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It is now an internationally acclaimed program with a growing body of evidence that supports its benefits for various clients.

Research has shown that during the course, participants experience:

  • Increased self and body awareness

  • Decrease in emotional and physical stress

  • Increased ability to cope with chronic pain

  • Increased self esteem

  • Better relationships with their family, friends and co-workers

This MBSR course is for beginners & requires a commitment to daily practice for optimal benefits.  Participants will learn how to be with themselves in a compassionate way, and how to be with their body, emotions & stressful mind states through:    

  • Mindfulness meditation

  • Body awareness practices

  • Learning how to be present and in the moment

  • Learning how to connect & work with difficult emotions

  • Learning how to identify negative patterns of behaviour
